nt, and has resulted in the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education designating the Miller County R-III School District as being "Accredited with Distinction." The Miller County R-III School District is a rural district of approximately 72 square miles lying entirely in Miller County. The school is located in the town of Tuscumbia, which is the county seat of Miller County. Cattle, turkey and hog farms are predominate with some row crop farming done along the Osage River. Many of the district's residents supplement the farm income with jobs in neighboring communities of Jefferson City, Eldon and Lake of the Ozarks.
