The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named Karen P. Brooks Trustee Emerita during its annual meeting, honoring her 21 years of dedicated service to our institutions and the state of Alabama.

Brooks was the first woman in history to serve as the Board’s President Pro Tempore and played a key role in some of the UA System's most significant leadership searches and strategic decisions. At the meeting, her fellow trustees and colleagues reflected on her legacy of distinguished leadership, steadfast belief in elevating others, and enduring impact on the Board and the UA System.
