Ranburne Rescue Squad and Fire Department along with 9 other fire departments in Cleburne County just completed an ISO Audit. Growth in the county makes it harder to maintain the same rating as 5 years ago. We won't know the results for another 6 months but we think we will maintain our rating. This comes at a cost. Ranburne spent close to $200,000 to replace outdated equipment in the last year. Hopefully we will be able to maintain the same rating, but it gets harder every time.

After a few hours of work, our training dummy has been finished! We originally made him a few years ago out of some old retired fire hose, but he had gotten pretty worn out. These new upgrades should hold him together no matter how hard we train with him. The Explorer holding him up is very excited, as you can tell!

The Explorers trained on establishing a water supply from s drop tank last night and pumping a master stream. Our drop tank will hold a maximum of 2,500 gallons of water so that our 2,000 gallons of tanker water will fit in it with some room for the next incoming load. Look for pictures of next weeks training where the Explorers will learn to tie two or more drop tanks together and pump multiple lines at the same time.
