This week, Northridge Middle School is celebrating Say Hey Week for Sandy Hook Promise! The purpose of this week is to help students feel welcomed, included, and connected. Through simple acts of kindness, students are learning how saying hello and reaching out to others can help prevent social isolation and make a big difference in someone’s day.

On Day 1, members of our Save the Promise Club welcomed students to school with cheerful signs and friendly greetings. Students were encouraged to “Start the Week with Hey” by saying hello to at least five people as they arrived. It was a wonderful way to begin the week and remind everyone that small actions can have a big impact! Sandy Hook Promise Tuscaloosa City Schools

We are so proud of Ashley Farmer, Hannah Reed and Laren Hammonds for leading these efforts. This was a very tedious process that took a lot of time. We’re very lucky to have their leadership at NMS! Congrats on this huge accomplishment!

Northridge Middle School has earned STEM certification from Cognia for the first time.

This week, we celebrate the impact of school-based arts programs and the educators who inspire creativity, confidence, and self-expression in our students. With this year’s theme, “Every Student, Every Community,” we are proud to recognize the incredible arts opportunities available to our Jaguars!
A special shoutout to our NMS Arts educators who help our students discover their talents, express themselves, and experience the power of the arts:
🎻 Mr. Hedgemon — Strings
🎤 Dr. Smith — Choir
🎺 Mrs. Underwood — Band
🎨 Mrs. Dobbins — Art
Thank you for creating opportunities for every student to participate, create, perform, and grow. Your dedication makes our school community stronger and helps make Northridge Middle School a place where there’s a place for every Jag!💙🖤
