Dr. Evans Kyei, CCN Assistant Professor, has been selected for the 2026 Health and Aging Policy Fellows cohort. The prestigious year-long fellowship focuses on current policy issues, communication skills development, and professional networking opportunities to provide fellows with the experience and skills to help affect policy and improve the lives of older Americans. Dr. Michelle Cheshire, CCN RN to BSN Program Coordinator, has been selected as a Fellow in the National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education. This prestigious honor recognizes individuals who have made enduring and substantial contributions to nursing education through teaching, mentorship, scholarship, leadership and advocacy. The Capstone College of Nursing is celebrating 50 years of excellence, innovation, and impact! We invite alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and friends to join us for CCN's 50th Anniversary Gala on November 5, 2026, at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Together, we'll celebrate the achievements, relationships, and shared experiences that have shaped generations of Bama Nurses.

As part of this milestone anniversary, we're also gathering alumni stories, reflections, photographs, career updates, and memories from every era of nursing at The University of Alabama.

Dr. Shameka Cody’s "Faith, Hope, and Therapy," has sparked conversations across rural Alabama about mental health, faith, and community care. The mini-documentary brought together pastors, researchers and community leaders to explore their unique roles in addressing mental health stigma and supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
