Summer II Honors in Holland

That’s a wrap on the summer semester! ☀️

The Speech and Hearing Center hosted 2 sessions of “Code Breakers Literacy Camp” 📚 this summer with the support of Mrs. Mennen’s graduate student clinicians and undergraduate volunteers. Students participated in interventions covering the foundational skills needed for stronger literacy skills including oral language, phonemic awareness, letter knowledge, phonics, word reading fluency, and vocabulary of course with a lot of fun in between.

As our summer semester wraps up and our students take a well-deserved break, we look forward to welcoming a new graduate class in the fall!

“Code Breakers” Summer Language and Literacy Camp session 1 is complete! We had a great group of elementary kids who worked on phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, vocabulary, and oral/written narrative skills, with a lot of fun in between!

This week, our graduate students are getting ready to welcome a new group of campers for session 2. ☀️📚

📚✨ UASLHS recently partnered with Delta Zeta Sorority for a community book drive! Thanks to the generosity of our students, faculty, and supporters, we were able to deliver books to pediatric waiting rooms throughout our community. We hope these books bring comfort, joy, and a love of reading to children and families while they wait for their appointments. ❤️📖
