University of Alabama: First Year Council

First meeting of the semester with name tags and suits! We are so excited for what this semester holds in store for us on campus!

Sadly, this last Tuesday we had our last meeting of the semester! But, we are so thankful that Ross, the VP of Student Affairs was able to come out and show us a great activity to help us all grow closer.

On Tuesday, the 2016-2017 term of First Year Council came to a close. While we are certainly sad to see our time as councilors end, we very much look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead and are incredible thankful for the valuable relationships formed that we are certain to cherish for years to come. As a wise man Nick Saban once stated, "This is not the end, this is the beginning!"

Several First Year Council members traveled with the SGA to Montgomery today in order to lobby for Alabama's public universities to receive more funding at Higher Education Day!

Members of FYC have signed the It's On Us campaign banner to show our support for sexual assault awareness and prevention on campus. Stop by the Ferg today to learn more!

First Year Council holds its weekly meetings every Tuesday night at 7PM. We invite students, especially freshmen, to attend and gain knowledge of campus initiatives, events, and issues. This is also a great time to connect with councilors one-on-one and learn about the great work FYC does for the University of Alabama community. Listen, learn and get plugged in.

Tonight, members of the First Year Council passed resolutions to establish organization categorization at Get On Board Day and to encourage members of FYC to attend Higher Education Day in Montgomery later this month. Have an idea or concern you would like to be heard? Let us know!
