Thank you to everyone who came out to our Sickle Cell Awareness Forum!

Since Sickle Cell is so prevalent in the Black Community, it is imperative that we are educated on how it spreads and how to help individuals who have it.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our guest speaker from NMDP on Campus - UA (TJ Lamar) for coming out and sharing valuable information on how we can get involved and contribute to helping individuals who struggle with blood disorders.

We look forward to continuing a partnership with Sickle Cell Association to increase Sickle Cell Awareness locally. For more info on the Sickle Cell Disease Association of West Alabama visit sicklecellwestal.org

In honor of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we want to educate students on how sickle cell works, how it affects our community, different resources to help individuals with sickle cell, and local initiatives students can get involved with.

This forum is open to students of all majors!

🤍 August community recap 💜

First we would like to give a big THANK YOU to The University of Alabama MAPS⚕️ for inviting us to their run with KrimsonSoleCrew It was so fun getting to connect with yall while enjoying fitness activities!

Secondly we would like to highlight our Ripple Effect Big Days of Service crew that helped out with Schoolyard roots!

Lastly, we would like to thank The Black Student Union (UA) again for inviting us out to ONYX!

We hope to continue to make a positive impact on the community and further connect with others in future initiatives! As we reflect on August, we look forward to what September brings!!!
