The NEA-funded Dance Arts Women's Narratives (DAWN) Project, a partnership between Dr. Susan Dewey, Dance Key West, and the S.C. Dept. of Corrections, is providing women in prison an opportunity for personal transformation through therapeutic arts and creating a worldwide network!

Thirteen adventurous students have been traveling with for his UA in Italy Study Abroad Program. They have been to Rome, Pompei, Ostia, Turin & Milan. It has been a whirlwind trip across Italy learning about Crime and Delinquency in Ancient Rome and Cesare Lombroso’s Atavistic Criminology. The weather has been great, a little hot in Rome, the views fabulous, and the memories unforgettable. Ciao!!!

Students in the University of Alabama Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s Austria and Italy Study Abroad Program celebrated the release of the U.S. Postal Service’s commemorative stamp honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States at the United Nations Office at Vienna, joined by Ms. Sarah Banerjee, Consul for Public Affairs at the U.S. Mission to International Organizations in Vienna.

Students from the University of Alabama’s Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice have spent the first week of our Austria–Italy Summer Study Abroad Program immersed in international crime and justice issues at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna.
