๐ ๐ฅณ Congratulations to UAP author Joyce Cauthen, recipient of the 2026 Wayne and Sally Greenhaw Service to the Humanities Award. This honor recognizes individuals who have made substantive contributions to the work of the Alabama Humanities Alliance specifically and to the public humanities generally in Alabama. Cauthen served as founding director of the Alabama Folklife Association and is a renowned expert on folk music traditions in Alabama.

๐๐ข Did you know? On August 5, 1864, Rear Admiral David G. Farragut led Union troops in a naval and land engagement against a Confederate fleet commanded by Admiral Franklin Buchanan. The engagement centered on three forts in Mobile Bay: Fort Morgan, Fort Gaines, and Fort Powell.
