Pre-K is learning about community helpers. Thanks Richard Scott for coming to speak to our scholars.

I enjoyed speaking to the pre-k kids at Southview Elementary in Tuscaloosa this morning! They were fired up and ready to learn about weather! I’ll have video on the news tonight at 5 PM, 6 PM, 9 PM and 10 PM.

This week students took the Start With Hello Pledge. The pledge encourages students to show empathy, be a friend to those who may feel left out, and to be an Upstander; using their voice to stand against something wrong.

Thank you to our amazing art teacher Ms. Guynes who collaborated with our counselor Mrs. Fillingame to create this beautiful Pledge Tree. 💚💚💚

September Book Buddies!

This month, our Book Buddies focused on our P.O.W.E.R. Core Value OUTGOING! Students spent time reading together, talking with their buddies, sharing ideas, and practicing ways to step outside of their comfort zones.

Being outgoing means having the courage to use your voice, meet new people, include others, share your ideas, and try new things! We love seeing our students build confidence and friendships across grade levels.

Ask your child: “How were you OUTGOING today?”

Our Southview Book Fair is happening NOW!

There’s still time to stop by and find some great books! Our Book Fair will be open through September 29 from 8:30 AM–1:30 PM.

Every purchase supports our school and helps encourage a love of reading in our students! 📖💛

Come shop the Book Fair before it’s gone!

Our School Supply Drive for Ghana is still going strong!

Throughout September, we have been collecting new school supplies to support students in our sister city in Ghana. Each grade level has a designated item, and we need your help filling our containers!

Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference. Thank you to everyone who has already donated, and let’s keep it going! ❤️✏️🎒

Together, we can help provide students with the tools they need to learn and succeed!
