Kindergarten and Spanish 1 partnered up to do kindergarten's annual Pumpkin investigations and carving! They worked together to measure how tall and round the pumpkins were, count the seeds, and see whether the pumpkins float or sink. They followed the investigation with pumpkin carving. We even had some first-time carvers!

From the cornfields to the classroom! After learning all about the design and fun of corn mazes, our creative 6th graders took on a cardboard engineering challenge.
Students had to step into the shoes of maze designers—developing a unique theme, mapping out their paths, and building cardboard mazes complete with tricky wrong turns and dead ends!
Questions to ask these students: What was the trickiest dead end you built into your maze?
What part of your original drawing was way harder to build out of cardboard than you expected?

Four Turtle Lake-Mercer students spent their day on Saturday in Bismarck singing in a state wide festival titled “Surround the State in Song.” This is an honor choir festival made up of 5th-7th grade students selected by the teacher or director to represent their school. The festival happens in multiple cities all around North Dakota on the same day literally surrounding the state in song of young voices! Our students rehearsed with around 70 other students from the Bismarck area and performed in a final concert showing all what they have learned in just a few hours together. Great job representing our school!
