irst Week of School
Posted by Brian Spadafino on Friday, Sep 4 at 12:10 PM in Franklin County Technical School, School Committee

Good afternoon. Our first week of school is in the books! There was definitely a lot of energy in the building to start the school year. Students are starting to get acclimated and into a routine. Next week, we will start a new routine, as we switch to a Week 2 (Grades 9 & 11 in shop and Grades 10 & 12 in academics).

- Students in grades 10 and 12 will report directly to their first period classes.
- Grade 11 students will report directly to their shop.
- Grade 9 students will report directly to the gymnasium so we can break them off into their Pre-Exploratory groups. Grade 9 students must wear: closed toe shoes, long pants without holes in them, and a t-shirt. All 9th grade students must have their Pre-Exploratory syllabus signed by a parent/guardian in order to participate.

Some upcoming events to bring to your attention:

- Labor Day is Monday, September 7th - NO SCHOOL

- School Picture Day for Grade 10-12 (and any 9th grade students who were not present for SOAR) will be on Wednesday, September 9th.

- Late buses will begin on Monday, September 14th. You can find the late bus drop off destinations on the school website (fcts.us). If you go halfway down the main page, you will find a bus schedules tab for all the routes and late bus stops. Late bus stops are different than the regular bus route stops. Late buses typically leave FCTS around 4:00 pm.

- FCTS sports teams will all be in action next week. You can find our sports schedules at this link: https://arbiterlive.com/Teams?entityId=7909

- The FCTS 50th Anniversary celebration will be held on September 19th! The building will be open from 11:30-2:30 pm for tours and a walk down memory lane. More information will follow next week.

Confidence is 90% preparation and 10% showing up.

If you have an interview coming up, don't just rely on winging it—do the prep work that actually sets you apart. When you know your value and back it up with preparation, the interview stops feeling like an interrogation and starts feeling like a conversation. 💙🦅
