We love having all our staff back! Today is District Day, full of re-connecting and training and getting ready for a great year. And this year, some fun "Survivor" challenges!

Superintendent Drill welcomed everyone back and encouraged everyone with three things:

Be here: the presence of a caring adult makes a great learning environment for our students.

Build Relationships: it's how we do it in our Cascade family.

Communicate Effectively: with each other, with our students, with our parents.

We're ready! Most students will start on Monday, Aug. 31.

One of our teachers going the extra mile for our students again!

Cascade High School's Justin Lowder saw that KOIN 6 was adding a new thing, U-report, giving schools a platform to share athletic news info. He's going to take the class he's been teaching on Sports Media for years, and help his students take a step up and publish their stories on U-report.

Most schools will see this as a chance to highlight athletics. Thanks to Lowder, Cascade will take it a step further, and also give our students real-world career experience creating quality content. A win-win!

Today was an important milestone! Thanks to the community support that passed our bond last May, today we signed the pre-closing papers on the sale of those bonds. The district will receive the funds next week.

It took a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work to make this happen. Thanks to Director of Finance William Wang, our legal counsel Hawkins, Delafield, and Wood, and our underwriter Piper Sandler for getting us to this day.

We’ve already been planning the work to efficiently use these funds for important improvements to all our schools. Be watching to see the first projects getting underway very soon!
