Stan State Chemistry alumnus Seth Hidalgo will share information about job and internship opportunities with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). He will explain what you need to do to pursue a career with the DEA and will share important details about the hiring process, including preparation tips and career pathways. Seth was also one of the chemists involved in dismantling and processing the recent drug bust in Calaveras County that has been widely covered in the news. He will share insights from his work.

This is a great opportunity to hear directly from a Stan State graduate working at the DEA, learn about career options in forensic chemistry, and ask questions about internships, hiring timelines, and more! 💊

Dr. Ayon Karmakar, Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Merced, will be presenting a seminar on hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

Please join us this Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. in NHS 322 to learn how advanced materials are enabling hydrogen production, clean electricity generation, and real-world clean energy solutions.

Prof. Qiao-Hong Chen will give a talk about her research on prostate cancer this Friday at 2:00 p.m! Her research interests focus on natural products-based anticancer agents.

She has published 168 peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as 6 books and chapters.

To kick off this semester, we volunteered at Family Science Night at Walnut Elementary School! 🏫

It was a blast to see students’ faces light up as they discovered the wonderful world of chemistry through hands-on demonstrations. Our activities included color-changing solutions, a snowflake design worksheet, an ice-melting experiment, and more!
