But why? Why the fish?
The fish symbol, known as the Ichthys has been associated with Christianity since the early church. Its history is rich in symbolism and meaning.
During the first few centuries of Christianity, believers faced severe persecution from the Roman Empire. To identify one another discreetly, Christians used the fish symbol as a code.
It is said that if two strangers met, one would draw an arc in the sand. If the other person was also a Christian, they would complete the drawing into a fish shape.
Thankfully, we no longer have to hide our faith but this symbol still holds a special meaning to Christ followers.
Our logo features one big fish with a smaller fish following. This symbolizes our young children following in our faith and loving Jesus.
We hope CCP is a place that fosters faith in our families and children.
