🎓 HOORAY FOR WR ALUMNI!

A big DEFENDER THANK YOU to the WR Class of 1971, which has generously gifted $4,000 through a WRCEF naming opportunity!

🌟In recognition of their gift, engraved “CLASS OF 1971” nameplates will be permanently placed on two seats in the Warrior Run's Enterline Auditorium—honoring their class while providing educational opportunities for today’s Warrior Run students through the Foundation. Sue Garthwaite and Deb Machamer present Jean Hormell with the class check.

💙 Now, how about YOUR class? Whether you graduated 10 years ago or 60, your class can leave its own legacy.

🧱 DEFENDER BRICKS ARE READY FOR FALL! 🦅
Take a look at the newest Defender Bricks, ordered earlier this year and now on campus awaiting placement in the Field House walkway.🏐🏈🏑

🎖Each engraved brick tells a little piece of Warrior Run history—honoring individuals, families, classmates, and groups whose connections to Warrior Run span the decades.

🤝Thank you to those who chose to commemorate these special people and memories with a permanent place on our campus. Your stories are now part of the Defender walkway for generations to see.🥹

🧱There is still room for YOUR story! A Defender Brick is a lasting way to honor a graduate, teacher, coach, team, family member, class—or anyone who has been part of Warrior Run history. Order in early 2027.

💙 Once a Defender, Always a Defender. 🦅

💥WAIT A MINUTE! WE ARE NOT DONE YET!!

🔥THE NEWEST EAGLE?... another story of creativity! 🦅

✅Most cannot visit the Warrior Run Elementary School without looking up as they enter the building. ⬇️Towering down on the concourse is an 8 ft. by 9 ft. mural that celebrates 😏EVERY CHILD WHO HELPED MAKE IT as well as the spirit of this new school.

✅Meet Mr. Brett Morgan - '13 WR alum, Millersville and Syracuse U. Fine Arts grad, and elementary art teacher. Thanks to a $1500 Warrior Run Community Education Foundation Innovation Grant, Mr. Morgan led an ambitious collaborative project during the 2024-2025 school year involving nearly 800 students in grades K-6.

Each grade explored a different artistic technique, including:
🎨 K - Pour painting
🖌️ 1 - Stamp landscape painting
🌈 2 - Stained glass art
🔵 3 - Dot painting
✏️ 4 - Pattern design
🪶 5 - Feather painting
🧱 6 - Brick stamping

✅Hundreds of individual small canvases were then assembled into one breathtaking mural featuring Warrior Run's NEWEST 🦅EAGLE DESIGN — a symbol of Defender pride created by MANY HANDS WORKING TOGETHER. 🤲

🎯The WRCEF is proud to support innovative projects helping teachers bring extraordinary ideas to life for Warrior Run students.

💙 Thank you for donating to the First Century Fund to keep these opportunities possible: WRCEF.ORG/DONATE

🦅 ANOTHER EAGLE?! If you've been around the Warrior Run campus, you've seen this iconic eagle soaring on signs, uniforms, banners, and just hung at the entrance to the new school addition.

❓But do you know who created it❓

✅Meet Mr. Joel Ryder—Warrior Run alumnus, Mansfield University grad, studied ceramics at Hood and completed his master's at Immaculata, WRHS art teacher, and the talented artist behind the eagle design that has become a symbol of Defender Pride!

🎨🖥️🍵As an educator, Mr. Ryder has also benefited from Warrior Run Community Education Foundation Innovation Grants, using them to expand the art curriculum, introduce new artistic experiences, and help students develop the skills they need to enjoy art and pursue artistic careers.

💥The WRCEF is proud to support innovative educators like Mr. Ryder, whose creativity continues to inspire generations of Defenders. Thank you, Mr. Ryder, for sharing your talent with Warrior Run and for leaving a lasting legacy across our campus! 🦅🎨❤️
