📚 **Building the Story!** 📚

Mrs. Ashley Coker’s English 2 Honors students are collaborating to create a dramatic structure known as **Freytag’s Pyramid** as they map out the key elements of a short story. Students are working together to identify the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution while strengthening their understanding of how a story comes together. 📖✨

We love seeing our students collaborate, think critically, and bring literature to life! ❤️📚

🔬 Science Writing in Action!🧪📝

Today in Mrs. Hannah Wilder’s class, students are using an article to gather evidence and support the claim, “Yeast is a living organism.”Students are practicing how to use information from a text to build and support scientific claims in their daily science writing!

We love seeing our students use evidence, think critically, and strengthen their scientific reasoning! 🌱🔬📚

📚 **Learning Through Stations in English 3!** 📝

Today in Mrs. Brianna Coker’s English 3 class, students explored the **Salem Witch Trials and Arthur Miller** through interactive learning stations! Each station provided different information about the author, the time period, and the real-life connections between the Salem Witch Trials and **McCarthyism**.

Students will begin reading *The Crucible* by Arthur Miller this week, and these activities were the perfect way to introduce the text and provide important historical context! 📖✨

We can’t wait to see what connections our students make as they dive into this powerful story! 🍎📚

From Mock Interviews to Real-World Experience!

Huge congratulations to two of East Clarendon’s very own, Seniors, Braylon Brown and Picasso Brown! 👏🏽👏🏽

Thanks to connections made during our Fall Mock Interviews, both students had the opportunity to spend their summer interning with Sonoco, a Fortune 500 packaging company!

🔹 Braylon worked in Engineering, applying his technical and problem-solving skills to a real-world project.

🔹 Picasso worked in IT, gaining hands-on experience while applying and expanding his technology skills.

Both students were given meaningful projects that allowed them to build on the skills they already had while developing valuable technical and soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and project management.

Experiences like these demonstrate the power of Career and Technical Education (CTE), work-based learning, and connections with business and industry. Our students aren’t just learning in the classroom—they’re applying their skills in real-world settings and discovering what they are capable of accomplishing. 💙

East Clarendon is preparing students not just for graduation, but for their future.

We are so proud of Braylon and Picasso for representing East Clarendon so well!
