Congratulations to these six Bruins who are proudly representing Northwest Whitfield High School this week at Georgia Boys State and Girls State, held at Valdosta State University!
Sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, Boys State and Girls State is a prestigious leadership and civic engagement program that brings together rising high school seniors from across Georgia. During this week-long experience, students participate in a hands-on simulation where they create and govern a fictional 51st state, run for elected offices, draft and pass legislation and learn firsthand how local and state government operates.
Beyond gaining a deeper understanding of government and civic responsibility, these students will develop leadership skills, build confidence and connect with peers from across the state.
As they join some of Georgia's brightest student leaders, we know these Bruins will make the most of this outstanding opportunity!
