🌟 Meet Your *NEW* 2026–27 Operations Networking Group Leaders 👋🏽

New year, broader network! A lot goes into keeping a school district running and now those conversations are uniting together in ONE place. The newly combined Operations Networking Group gives our community more opportunities to connect across specialties, share what's working and tap into an even broader range of experience and expertise.

This week, we're recognizing the volunteer leaders helping guide those opportunities: Morgan Thornton (CN Chair), Makoa Jacobsen (Records Chair) and Keri Weiss (Facilities Chair)!

From facilities and child nutrition to risk management, transportation and other operational areas, this group will provide space to bring questions to the table, exchange resources and learn what's working in districts across Washington state.

🌟 Meet Your 2026–27 Payroll, Personnel & Retirement (PPR) Networking Group Leaders 👋🏽

Say hello to the volunteer leaders guiding WASBO's Payroll, Personnel & Retirement (PPR) Networking Group: Alexandra Nicoara (Chair) and Rachelle Gaines (Co-Chair)!

As school districts continuously navigate workforce challenges, Alexandra is looking forward to exploring how districts can balance staffing and leave management with today's budget realities, particularly regarding substitute coverage costs and the impact of total compensation.

When asked how learning from professional peers has shaped her career, Rachelle reflected on the value of the relationships she's built through networking groups:
