Tulsa Community College Men in Nursing

Today, the Men in Nursing had the opportunity to visit Central High School and speak with 45 students about the importance of health and what nurses do in the community.
We’re proud to help inspire the next generation and share what nursing is all about! 💙🩺

🎉 We’re also excited for our upcoming Cinco de Mayo Potluck on May 5th at 4 PM (SU 200), we’ll have tacos and chips, among other treats!
Feel free to come hang out, and you’re welcome to bring a dish or drink to share (no pressure).

Last week we had some phenomenal food thanks to Andolinis Pizza 🍕 and their generous donation to the Men in Nursing!
We also had the great pleasure of having guest speaker and TCC Alumni Ian Dosh! He told us about the importance of self care and safety precautions one can take to protect oneself as a nurse in the field! 💪

Two weeks ago we had the privilege of hearing from Jerrod McDonald, a current Cardiovascular Nurse with years of experience, he spoke with us about the importance of treating the patient as a whole person, not just focusing on the disease as well as many other important factors as we work our way to becoming future nurses.

We also discussed upcoming plans to begin fundraising with Blue & Gold Sausage Company to support our chapter’s trip to the National Men in Nursing Convention in Las Vegas!!

The Men in Nursing visited Charles Page High School today to talk about how the body uses oxygen for energy, why va**ng and early lifestyle choices matter, and used a puzzle activity to show how everyone brings a unique piece to the bigger picture.
