Amazing things happened at Hamilton Elementary today!
First day of Urban Engagement for Fall 2018 was a success! We toured Memorial Junior High and Tulsa Met. The ladies of TURN left words of encouragement for the teachers at MJH and we saw the best interactive science mural!!

We have an opportunity with NSU... As of right now, there are 21 slots available.
Must be novice teachers (not taught more than 3 years).
1. Attend a face to face workshop in Muskogee Feb 10 - if available, I know this is late notice!!!
2. You get 50 hours of PD by participating in 2 face to face workshops, some online hours, and a mentorship of someone from NSU coming to their school.
3. Teach a STEM lesson, assess it, and modify your lesson to assure students are learning.
4. There is no stipend, but there is a budget to buy materials for your classroom and you would have full access to all NSU STEAM Lab resources (more than $10,000 worth of recently purchased amazingness!)

Future Teacher Scholarship
Eligibility
1. The student must be a resident of Oklahoma.
2. The student must be nominated by the college on the basis of one of the following criteria:
a. Cumulative high school grade point average ranking in the top 15% of his or her high school
graduating class; OR
b. ACT or SAT score ranking in the top 15% for high school graduates of the same year; OR
c. Admission to a professional education program at an accredited Oklahoma institution of
higher education; OR
d. An undergraduate record of outstanding success, as defined by the institution.
3. Full-time and part-time students are eligible for the scholarship; however, highest priority will be
given to full-time students.
4. Scholarship recipients must maintain no less than a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
5. Each recipient must agree to teach in a shortage area in Oklahoma public schools for a minimum of
three (3) consecutive years upon graduation and licensure as a teacher.
6. Recipients may receive the scholarship for not more than four years, or the equivalent of four years,
of full-time study.

A Hand Up Scholarship
This scholarship is available for a woman, age 21 or over, who might need just that,
"A Hand Up." Possibly someone who previously attended college, but could no
longer continue due to life circumstances, or maybe a woman who has thought of
going to school, but might need a little financial assistance, or even a
woman currently enrolled in school, but is struggling with financial hardship.
