Introducing our first KD-Duo, highlighting some of the friendships in KD that make this sisterhood so special! ✨ Here is what Wendy and Rosa had to say about their friendship 🩵

Wendy: “When I started the big/little process I was so excited but nervous. Little did I know that Rosa would become one of my bestest friends! Rosa and I just kind of clicked. I talked to her on Bid Day, and I knew we would become good friends🥹 Now I could not imagine my KD experience or even college without her. From every food run, to every study session, to all the silly hangouts, she’s always there for me, and I’ll always be there for her💓 I didn’t know I’d be able to find this kind of friendship when I decided to go through recruitment but I’m so glad I did! If you’re scared about recruitment, I’d encourage you to go through with it. It might change your life for the best!✨”

Rosa: “Since our first encounter, Wendy has always been such a funny, energetic, supportive, and kind friend. As I learned more about her through the big/little process, we instantly connected through our interests, culture, and values. Since then we have shared countless memories, shared our hardships, and celebrated our achievements. Through KD, I was introduced to a lifelong friend for which I am eternally grateful.”

KD sisters Aiva and Sam have had the opportunity to travel to Beijing for a study abroad trip over the past couple weeks. Here is what Aiva had to say about her experience:

“I am so happy to have had the chance to travel with my KD sister! I will cherish the memories we made and am excited to make more once we get back home!! I’m so glad to have the chance to be immersed in the culture that raised my family through generations. Being here reminds me of home.”

“When I started college, I wanted to branch out from my comfort zone and try new things, so I decided to go through recruitment. I remember walking out of KD with the biggest smile on my face because I felt truly at home here. I’m not afraid to act like myself around my sisters and I always feel seen. I truly love being in a place where everyone is so supportive of each other. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else!”

This week, we wanted to take the opportunity to share about our partnership with the Girl Scouts. Through Kappa Delta, we have the opportunity to host events with local Girl Scouts, take part in tabling to sell Girl Scout cookies, and even help Girl Scouts earn their badges!

Kappa Delta began partnering with Girl Scouts of the USA in 1998. This national partnership extends to our local chapter, where we have the opportunity to uphold our values by hosting events and serving as mentors for the Girl Scouts. Through this mentorship, we help inspire confidence and courage, giving these girls a group of sisters to look up to.

Each semester, we host events and assist in tabling, connecting with and inspiring local troops. Recently, we were able to host a spa day at the KD house. In the past, we also hosted a rock climbing event at Collin’s Fitness Center and events focused on earning badges at the KD house. Our partnership with the Girl Scouts through Kappa Delta allows us to make a positive impact by sharing our values and spreading confidence!

Bid Day is only 100 days away!! 🎉 We can’t wait to meet PC ‘26! 💫☘️
