Students received a picture card today with their name & a QR code on it. Two things to note -
1. The QR code is to preview your students school picture once picture day is over & the studio has time to upload the photos.
2. If you received a card that does NOT have your students name on it, please send that one back to the school (it was brought to our attention that some of them were not given to the correct students).

Picture day is Thursday & students do get a free dress day as long as their outfits & shoes are school appropriate.

ATTENDANCE .... WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!!!!

We just got confirmation that Tulsa Public Schools is doing a major attendance incentive/prize for students. All the information is below.

August 19th-September 29th
All students with 95% attendance rate or above will be entered into a drawing
Three lucky students from each school will be chosen to win (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) a mega ride pass for the Tulsa State Fair, valued at $97

What's happening at Disney?

September 7th - NO SCHOOL, Labor Day

September 8th - Grandparents Day Lunch

September 10th - School Picture Day - there are no pre-orders this year - every student will get a QR code that when parents scan their code will take them to their students picture - parents will order online only - pictures will be available to view & purchase 2 days after picture day & for 8 days after

September 10th - PTA meeting, 3:00 in the Disney Library

DROP OFF SAFETY IN THE MORNING:

It has been brought to our attention that many parents are letting their students get out of the car in the drive through lane instead of the drop off lane. If you're dropping students off in the car line in the parking lot, you MUST be in the lane closest to the curb/sidewalk/school!! Do not let your children exit your vehicle in the parking lot from the second lane. This is a drive through or exit lane, not for drop off.

This is a huge safety risk & we want to avoid anyone, especially students, being hit by vehicles.

SEGURIDAD DE BAJAR NIÑOS EN LA MAÑANA: Se nos ah informado que muchos padres están dejando a sus estudiantes que salgan de los vehículos en la línea que es continua en ves de la que es indicada para bajarlos. Si van a bajar los niños del vehículo en el estacionamiento tiene que ser la línea que esta a la izquierda, mas cercas a la escuela, donde esta la banqueta! No permitas que tus niños salgan de tu vehículo en la línea del lado derecho. El carril del lado derecho es solo para pasar y salir, no para que se detenga y bajen los niños. Esto es un riesgo muy grande de seguridad y no queremos que a nadie, especialmente nuestros estudiantes que los atropellen otros vehículos. Gracias.

An update to our event calendar we sent out - October 1st Parent Teacher Conferences have been rescheduled. Conferences will no longer be on October 1st & instead will be on October 6th & 8th.

First ever Battle of the Schools begins next week! From August 31st to September 3rd, you can eat at Texas Roadhouse at 71st & Garnett, drop your receipt in the Disney elementary (mickey mouse) box. Our school will receive 10% of all the disney receipts for the week AND if we have more money in receipts than the other schools, we will get 20% instead of 10%. Help Disney win the first ever Battle of the Schools 😊

PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN Parents -

It will help tremendously with the pick-up line at dismissal if you have your name tag with you. If you're in your car in line, please have it hanging on your rearview mirrow. If you're walking up to the gate, please have it in your hand so the safety patrol & Miss Harper can get your child to your a little quicker.
Also, if you're walking up to the gate, please make a single file line on the sidewalk down the fence line. Do not bunch around the gate as that makes it more difficult for us to get students out.

We made it to the first day of school!!!
Our teachers & staff are excited to see you all this morning.
A few things to remember:
- doors open at 7:15
- school starts at 7:30
- families can walk students into class the first 3 days
-school ends at 2:35
- car pick up line is only for Pre-K & Kindergarten students and their siblings
- if your student is going to be absent, please call 918-925-1480 or email [email protected]
