Back to School Night at Hawthorne was a HUGE success!❤️🖤
We were so excited to welcome our Hawks and their families into the building tonight. Seeing all of the smiles, excitement, and anticipation for the new school year made our hearts so happy!

A special thank you to our amazing community partners, Justice for Greenwood, Lilyfield, Family & Children Services, Crossover, Northside Neighbors, and The Parent Resource Center for joining us and serving our families tonight. We are so grateful for your support!

Now it’s time to get some rest because…THE FIRST DAY IS TOMORROW! 🥳🎒📚

🦅 Meet the Hawks 2026–2027 - Pre-K Team❤️🖤

Our Meet the Hawks series continues and today, we're shining the spotlight on the educators who welcome our youngest Hawks into the Hawthorne family!

❤️ Welcome Back, Ms. Brewer!

Ms. Brewer brings 12 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and is returning for her 2nd year at Hawthorne!
This year, she is looking forward to building meaningful relationships, inspiring a love of learning, and watching her little learners grow in confidence, kindness, and curiosity. We can't wait to see all the wonderful ways our PreK Hawks will grow under her care!

🌟 Welcome Back, Ms. Maxwell!

With an incredible 19 years in education, Ms. Maxwell brings a wealth of experience and passion to our PreK classroom. She began her career with CAP Tulsa, teaching in both Early Head Start and Head Start, before joining Tulsa Public Schools in 2012.
Throughout her career with TPS, she has taught both PreK and Kindergarten, and this year marks her 5th year at Hawthorne!

We are incredibly lucky to have educators with such a strong background in early childhood education helping our youngest Hawks begin their educational journey.

🦅 Meet the Hawks 2026–2027 - Kindergarten Grade Team❤️🖤

The excitement is building, and we're thrilled to introduce the amazing educators who will be helping our Kindergarten Hawks take their next big step in their learning journey!

❤️ Welcome Back Ms. Brown!
Ms. Brown is returning for her 2nd year in education and her 2nd year at Hawthorne! This year, she's looking forward to watching her new group of students discover just how much they are capable of accomplishing on their own. We can't wait to see our Kindergarten Hawks grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity under her guidance!

🌟 Welcome to Hawthorne, Ms. Toh!
Ms. Toh brings nearly 12 years of experience in education and working with children. Her experience has taken many forms from serving as a Sunday school teacher to creating children's educational programming during her time in broadcasting in her home country. She has also had the privilege of working with children ages 5–17 at Parkside Psychiatric Hospital. This year, Ms. Toh is looking forward to creating a warm, joyful, and nurturing classroom where every child feels safe, seen, valued, and excited to come to school each day.

We are so excited to have these two incredible educators guiding our Kindergarten Hawks through a year of big discoveries, growing independence, exciting milestones, and lots of learning!

Hawthorne is committed to creating and nurturing a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that is conducive to learning. It’s understandable – expected, even – for our young people to need additional emotional support in managing feelings and regulating their emotions. With our families' partnership, our goal is to reinforce that our school is a place where every student can feel safe.
