TU students design, build and test device to support outer space exploration
NASA recently invited a team of mechanical engineering students and alumni to Johnson Space Center to test their rock anchoring device.

This fall, over 60 mechanical engineering students and volunteers created mobility aids to allow children of every ability the opportunity to play together. Make A Difference Engineering (MADE at TU) is one of the many donor-funded programs that give students hands-on learning experiences while also serving the Tulsa community.

Mechanical engineering professors Joshua Schultz and Steve Tipton, along with Danielle Macdonald from Anthropology, recently received a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to purchase a Barrett WAM® robotic arm. One of the most sophisticated robot manipulators in existence, the device will support experiments in engineering and others that help shed light on the lives of prehistoric people.
