What we teach has consequences far beyond what happens during a violent encounter. Not because that is not important. We cannot lose sight of that importance. But because most of our students won't face that violence. The arts should prepare them for the challenges of life. By giving them skills and friends to stand beside them.
It is the least I can do. It has done that for me.
A leader doesn't have to be the loudest in the room.
Just the most prepared.
Your students don't just follow your instruction. They follow your example. Your discipline. Your standard.
The blade in hand isn't a symbol of dominance. It's a reminder that what you carry has consequences, and that's exactly why your standards have to be uncompromising.

Did you know? The man Bruce Lee chose to run his school and system in his absence has come to for over 40 years to teach? Did you know that you could learn from the material taught by this same man? Here in Tulsa? Check out relentlessmartialarts.com to find out more.

Martial Arts is about skill to obtain personal mastery and to protect oneself and others. After years and decades it becomes about more. The gentleman common to all these photos met me while training for his new job. Feeling he wasn't adequately prepared he joined me for some notorious "daytime workouts" This began a friendship that extended through weddings and jr black belt tests. Milkshakes and handshakes. But really he wants a hug. Congrats to Bo on his red belt. This is the last step before instructor. It's a big step and will be a big push. We are glad to have you.

Today we had the opportunity to teach de-escalation training for Family and Children Services here in Tulsa, and it was a powerful reminder that martial arts is about so much more than punching and kicking.
One of the most overlooked parts of martial arts training is what it develops internally: confidence, emotional control, discipline, awareness, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Those are life skills that carry over into school, work, relationships, and everyday situations.
Whether you’re looking to help your child build confidence and resilience, or you’re an adult looking to challenge yourself, grow mentally and physically, or simply become more capable and grounded, there’s a place for you at Relentless Martial Arts.
We believe martial arts should strengthen communities, not just individuals. It teaches people how to carry themselves with confidence, handle adversity with composure, and approach conflict with control and responsibility.
Grateful for opportunities to serve our Tulsa community and proud of the positive impact martial arts can have on people of all ages.
