Timawa. G**o. Ajarn. Sifu. Mentor. Leader.

Those may be the titles he’s earned on the mat, but they’re not the ones we call him most often. Husband. Father. Friend. And to so many of us, simply someone we’re grateful to have in our corner.

Whatever you call him, today we’re calling it Happy Birthday! We hope your day is filled with all the people, laughter, and good things you’ve given to others over the years.

Happy Birthday!

Chaos or calm… Sifu Bennett has got this.

We were back at Lanier Elementary today, and the kids got to learn, move, and put their skills to work. From stick-fighting to watching a technique demonstrated up close, there’s a lot happening in one class!

And that’s part of the fun. Martial arts teaches kids that they can be energetic and focused, playful and disciplined, loud when it’s time to move—and quiet when it’s time to listen.

Another great day of building better heroes at Lanier Elementary!

Sometimes the best way to learn is to play. 🥊

Jab Tag is one of the games we use in kids class to work on timing, distance, movement, reaction, and learning to recognize an opening—all while keeping everyone moving and having fun.

One partner is “it,” looking for an opportunity to make contact with their jab. Once they connect, they switch roles and keep going until the bell rings.

It’s not about perfect technique. It’s about learning to pay attention to what your partner is doing, react to movement, and get comfortable with controlled contact.

And judging by the smiles, they’re having a pretty good time learning.

That’s a win in our book.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed by that day.

We remember those who were lost, the families who carried that loss, and the first responders and ordinary citizens who stepped forward to help others in the face of unimaginable circumstances.

The effects of that day were felt far beyond the places directly attacked. Communities across our nation grieved, came together, and carried the weight of what had happened. The sacrifices made in the days, months, and years that followed touched countless lives.

Today, we pause to remember. We honor those we lost, those who served, and those who continue to live with the effects of that day.

May we remember not only the tragedy, but also the compassion, courage, and sense of community that emerged in its aftermath. May we continue to care for one another, stand together in difficult times, and never forget the value of every life.

Building Better Heroes starts young.

We’re excited to welcome our first after-school group to Relentless Martial Arts! What a great bunch of kids—and we’re looking forward to getting to know them, watching them grow, and helping them build confidence, discipline, respect, and perseverance along the way.

Martial arts is about more than what happens on the training floor. We believe in building strong, confident kids who learn to work hard, encourage one another, and keep going when something is difficult.

Is your school interested in an after-school martial arts program? We’d love to talk with you about bringing Relentless Martial Arts to your school.

At Relentless, training doesn’t stop when class is over.
We’re building a martial arts community where there’s always something to work toward, whether you’re brand new, working through a curriculum, preparing for competition, or just looking for a place to keep getting better.
Along with our regular classes, we offer structured curriculum across our disciplines, special training events, and monthly sparring nights where our Muay Thai, JKD, boxing, and other practitioners can train together and work on the skills they’re developing.
There’s serious training here. There’s hard work. There’s plenty of sweat.
And there’s also a lot of laughing, encouragement, friendship, and people who genuinely enjoy being here.
That’s the part we’re proud of.
If you’ve been looking for a martial arts school where you can train, grow, and become part of a community, come see what we’re building.
We build better heroes.

🥊 Welcome to Crybaby Corner.

Padded walls. Padded floor. Nowhere to run.

When you get pushed into the corner, the only way out is to fight your way out. Because in training, sometimes the lesson is simple:

You don’t get to quit just because things got uncomfortable.

Pressure. Problem-solving. Staying calm when you’re tired and trapped.

That’s what we train.

Proud is an understatement.

This weekend, Koal and Camryn tested for their WTBA Beginning Level Instructor certification, and I’m incredibly proud of the work they put in to get to this point.

But I’m equally proud of the work ethic they displayed throughout the entire weekend and especially during the test. When they were tired, when the pressure was on, and when those final rounds asked them to dig a little deeper—they showed heart.

Ajarn Chai has always required everyone who wants to become an instructor to go through this test, regardless of experience or their relationship with him or any other instructor. Why? Because he wants to see their heart.

As Ajarn Chai says, “Keep going—no matter what you do.”

The test gives our instructors an opportunity to evaluate more than technique. It gives them an opportunity to see character. Pressure has a way of showing us what we’re made of—and this weekend, you both showed exactly that.

Congratulations, Kru Koal and Kru Camryn. Thank you for your discipline, your work ethic, and for respecting the fidelity of the art while meeting—and exceeding—the expectations of a student transitioning into an instructor.

You make our tribe stronger, and in doing so, you help make the entire WTBA community stronger.

Well earned. I’m proud of you both. 🥊🙏

Grateful. That’s the word that keeps coming to mind after this weekend.

Grateful for Ajarn Chai and for the community he has spent a lifetime building.

It’s a family built through his example—discipline and respect woven into the training and the expectations that come with it, but also compassion and understanding without lowering the standard.

Ajarn Chai shared more than his knowledge of Muay Thai. He shared a passion for teaching, a passion for his art, and a genuine love for his students.

And this weekend, I could see all of those things reflected through every instructor—knowledge being shared, standards being upheld, relationships being strengthened, and those lessons being passed down to the next generation.

What an incredible thing to be a part of.

We are grateful for what Ajarn Chai has built, and honored to carry his legacy forward. 🙏🥊
