As a reward for the best attendance at Darnaby Elementary, second graders enjoyed a field trip to Bass Pro where Principal Chris Reynolds led them on a tour of the animals inside the store.
Afterwards, the students were split into groups. One group learned about fishing from Game Ward J.D. Stauffer, son of retired Union High School Principal Dave Stauffer.
The other group joined their principal, Dave Stauffer, and Union's Head Football Coach Antonio Graham as well as more parents to try their hands at placing worms on hooks and then fishing at the Bass Pro pond.
After a bit, the student groups rotated so everyone got their hand at fishing. An avid outdoorsman, Reynolds rewards students with good attendance at the end of the school year with what has become an annual fishing trip.

Thank you all for coming out to celebrate Darnaby’s Spring Fling and Club Expo with us. It truly means so much to see our community come together to support the fun activities and the hard work our students put into their clubs and programs. Our students did an amazing job showing off their western dance skills and proudly sharing everything they’ve poured into their after‑school activities. Another fantastic night in the books for our Darnaby Rangers!
