Monarchs on the Mountain would not be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors. 💚

Over the past 11 years, this event has grown through the support of so many organizations across Tulsa County and throughout Oklahoma who believe in protecting pollinators and creating opportunities for our community to connect with nature.

We are grateful for every partner who helps make Monarchs on the Mountain a place where families can learn, explore and celebrate the incredible journey of the monarch butterfly.

Thank you for helping us make this event possible year after year! 🦋

Change of plans!🦋
Monarchs on the Mountain has a new headliner: Euchee Butterfly Farm is joining us this year. Few people in Oklahoma know monarchs, and the milkweed they depend on — like they do. We're thrilled to have hands-on experts leading the conversation this time around

Learn something new at Monarchs on the Mountain! 🦋

Tom Clark will give a monarch tagging demonstration, supported by The Euchee Butterfly Farm, starting at 10 a.m. During the demonstration, attendees will learn how scientists and community members help track monarchs during their incredible fall migration.

The Monarch Watch Tagging Program is a large-scale community science project that began in 1992 to better understand the monarch’s spectacular fall migration through mark and recapture.

Come learn how a tiny tag can help researchers uncover more about these incredible butterflies and their journey south for the winter!

We’re getting ready for Monarchs on the Mountain 2026! 🦋
Last year, Tulsa County Commissioner Lonnie Sims presented a proclamation recognizing the importance of monarchs, pollinators and protecting the habitats they depend on. This year, we’re thrilled to continue the tradition with another proclamation, which will be presented at the event at 9:45 a.m.

Join us Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a morning of learning, community and celebrating pollinators. Meet our community pollinator partners and plant vendors, hear from guest speaker Dr. Priscilla Crawford, author of A Naturalist’s Guide to Oklahoma, and enter for a chance to win door prizes.

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate monarchs and the important role pollinators play in our environment!
