The 2026 OKStars Summer Research Program welcomed 21 outstanding high school students from across Oklahoma for six weeks of immersive, hands-on biomedical research.

Working alongside faculty, staff, and student mentors, participants developed laboratory skills, explored careers in science, and contributed to ongoing research projects. They concluded the program by presenting their research to family, friends, and mentors at the OKStars Research Symposium, and many went on to present their findings again at the Joint Research Meeting alongside graduate students and medical students.

Congratulations to our 2026 OKStars students on their hard work and accomplishments. Thanks to our mentors, faculty, staff, and supporters who made this program possible. We look forward to seeing where your scientific journeys take you next!
