Every neighborhood has passionate people doing good work.

But passion without a game plan? That's a lot of motion without a lot of movement.

In Kendall-Whittier, Growing Together serves as the community quarterback, the trusted, place-based organization that connects housing, education, economic opportunity, and community vibrancy into one shared vision for our neighborhood.

We don't run every play, but we make sure every play works together.

At Growing Together, we believe something deeply:

A connected community is a resilient one. And our community is our greatest resource.

The most valuable data that is used to improve our neighborhood doesn't come from national benchmarks or industry reports. It comes from the families, students, educators, and neighbors of Kendall-Whittier who trusted us enough to share their experiences, honestly.

Our neighbors' voices tell us where we're making a difference. Their voices tell us where we need to grow. And their voices are now shaping every decision we make for next year.

That's the difference between an organization that serves a community and one that is truly PART of it.

The next school year hasn't started yet. But it's already being built on a foundation of community voice and a relentless commitment to getting better for the families who are counting on us.

Together, we grow.

For the past two weeks, our team did something that matters more than any event or program we'll ever run. We walked through data from this school year with our parents, teachers, staff, and many more to ask ourselves one honest question:

Where can we improve the outcomes for our children?

The next school year hasn't started yet. But we're already building it. And we're building it with our student outcomes in mind.

In 2026, the connection between place and possibility is clearer than ever.

A powerful article from Dr. Raj Chetty and the Opportunities Insights outlines five reasons why neighborhoods matter more than ever, and each one validates the work Growing Together Tulsa is advancing in Kendall-Whittier.

Neighborhoods aren't just where people live. They're where opportunity is built or denied. We're proud to be building it in Kendall-Whittier.

Thank you to everyone who made the Sequoyah Family Picnic a success!

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're holding space for a truth we see in our community.

A student who is struggling emotionally cannot thrive academically. And a child who feels invisible cannot show up as their best self.

That's why our partnership with goes beyond textbooks and test scores. Through caring adults like our CIS Site Coordinators, we make sure students in our schools are supported.

Mental wellness isn't separate from student success. It is the key to student success.

This month and every month, we're committed to creating spaces in Kendall-Whittier where our young people know they are not alone.

Congratulations to every Sequoyah student, family, and educator on a wonderful school year. We can't wait to see what next year brings.
