Back-to-School Night at Eugene Field Elementary was full of connection, excitement, and community.

Families had the opportunity to meet the principal, teachers, school staff, and Growing Together’s Communities In Schools Coordinator, Anna Chincon, as everyone prepared for a strong school year ahead.

From arts and crafts to basketball, reading, and time spent engaging together, the evening gave students and families a chance to feel welcomed, supported, and connected to their school community.

We are grateful for the Eugene Field Elementary team and the way they continue creating a school environment where students and families feel seen, encouraged, and ready to thrive.

Here’s to a great year at Eugene Field Elementary!

This Coordinator Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the incredible Communities In Schools Coordinators who show up every day for students and families across the schools Growing Together serves.

Our coordinators do far more than respond to challenges. They build trusted relationships, connect families to resources, encourage students through difficult moments, celebrate milestones, and help remove barriers that can stand in the way of learning and success.

Our CIS Coordinators bring that belief to life every day through their presence, compassion, and commitment.

To our entire Communities In Schools team: thank you for being in the schools, in the lives of families, and in the corner of every student you serve.

Your presence matters. Your work matters. And our schools are stronger because of you.

Help us celebrate by tagging a coordinator who has made a difference or sharing a story about the impact they have had.

Growing Together serves students of all ages.

As K–12 students return to school, a group of adult learners has begun a new chapter too.

Thanks to a partnership with Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma, these determined learners are taking the next step toward earning their diplomas through HiSET classes this fall.

Their decision to return to the classroom is more than a personal goal. It is a powerful example for their families and for our whole community.

We are proud to celebrate every learner choosing growth, opportunity, and a new beginning.

Today, we’re celebrating Being Present Matters Day with Communities In Schools !

At Growing Together, being present means showing up for students not just when things are easy, but when they need encouragement, support, resources, advocacy, and someone who believes in their future.

Our Communities In Schools Coordinators are present in our schools every day, helping students feel seen, heard, valued, and supported as they learn, grow, and navigate life.

Join us today in celebrating by sharing why being present matters to you.

At Growing Together, we believe strong neighborhoods help create successful students. That is why our work alongside schools, families, residents, and partners matters in every season.

This recent article from Purpose Built Communities is a powerful reminder that neighborhoods play a critical role in helping students keep learning, stay connected, and return to school ready to grow.

Every day, our coordinators are in schools helping students know they are not alone, their challenges matter, and their future is worth investing in.

For Harriet, one of our Communities In Schools Program Coordinators, being present means showing up as a steady source of support, encouragement, and advocacy

This is the heart of Growing Together and Communities In Schools.

Just as students are heading back to school, we celebrate these phenomenal neighbors as they are beginning a new educational chapter of their own.

They will be starting HiSET classes very soon to earn their diplomas.

We sincerely thank our community partner, Catholic Charities, for providing this opportunity.

It's our honor to support pathways to learning for every generation, as we know it is a key stepping stone toward prosperity.

Connect. Prepare. Succeed.

We loved spending time with students and families at Rogers College Middle & High School as they got ready for a strong start to the school year.

Student success does not happen alone. It happens when schools, families, community partners, and support teams come together to make sure students feel prepared, connected, and ready to thrive.

A special thank you to Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church, City Year Tulsa, Family & Children’s Services, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and all the community partners who made this event possible.

Here’s to a great school year!
