George Washington Carver Middle School

George Washington Carver Middle School Academic Excellence Carver Magnet Middle School has criteria-based academics and fine arts. Carver offers advanced courses in several core areas.

Carver is located at the corner of historic Greenwood Avenue and Pine Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in close proximity to downtown Tulsa. The surrounding area is being revitalized and is growing weekly with the completion of new businesses and homes. Oklahoma State and Langston Universities in Tulsa are close neighbors. Carver Middle School is a magnet middle school that selects students from all over the city in order to ensure a culturally diverse population. Admission is based on test scores, grades, and attendance compiled from previous school terms. In compliance with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, students are required to take foreign language, physical education, and fine arts. We focus on enrichment activities, multi-cultural experiences, and meaningful elective offerings. More than 35,000 students have graduated from Carver Middle School since 1929. Our students earn consistently high scores on achievement tests and also have proven to be outstanding in academic, speech, music, and athletic competitions on local, state, and national levels. It is the mission of Carver Middle School to promote and maintain academic excellence in a threat-free environment, to encourage self-discipline, to serve the community, and to nurture life-long learning while developing responsible citizens. Our tradition is excellence; our concept is diversity; our potential is unlimited; our future is global.
