Something BIG is happening!!!!! The Lower Elementary playground is almost ready for the TK-3rd graders here at Bethany Community School!!!! It is going to be an amazing space to navigate and grow our creativity and muscles!

Our Primary Class loves to learn through play, creativity, and hands-on exploration! ☀️🎨 another, fun activity primary explored was movement by rolling objects down the ramp, watching how fast or slow they went, we continue to explore while developing social - emotional skills, learning to share, take turns and work together! 🤗

🚓🚒👩‍⚕️👷‍♂️ Community Helpers in Action! 👷‍♀️👨‍🚒🚑

Our Junior 1 class has been busy learning about community helpers and the important jobs they do to keep our community safe and running smoothly!

This week we explored firefighters, doctors, construction workers, police officers, and mail carriers through dramatic play, books, sensory bins, and hands-on activities. The children loved delivering “mail” to friends, building roads with blocks, and taking care of babies in our pretend clinic.

Pre-K Fun Friday…..
Pre-K has been busy exploring all about rainforest and jungle animals and the differences in their environments they live in. Today we brought that to life by creating our own classroom zoo. There was a lot of teamwork, creativity and imagination. Bethany Pre-K is hard at work and having the best time!

PreK had a great time making pancakes.. we measured, poured, mixed, cooked, ate and cleaned up… from start to finish these kiddos did an excellent job! 🧑‍🍳🥞😊

Our Primary class has been busy as bees this month! We have been diving into all sorts of sensory activities that encourage both creativity and skill-building! One of the highlights last week was our ice cube Lego painting - we froze food coloring into ice cubes and used large Legos as our “paintbrushes.” This activity helped strengthen our fine motor skills. 🖐️

In addition we’ve been focusing on other fine motor development through our sensory bins. Primary has been practicing scooping and pouring with different materials like pasta, as well as using tweezers to pick up small objects. This also builds problem solving and social skills.🐝

🎨☀️ Outdoor Art + Sensory Play! ☀️🎨

Our toddlers had a blast taking art outside today! Using colorful sensory foam paint, little hands explored textures, colors, and creativity while enjoying the fresh air. 🍃✨

Not only was it a fun and messy experience (the best kind!), but it also encouraged fine motor skills, self-expression, and teamwork. Each masterpiece was uniquely their own, and the smiles say it all. 💕

At BCS, we believe learning happens everywhere — even on the playground! 🌈
