My Intro to Quilting Series begins Tuesday July 1st! Learn to quilt with me at Community Craft!!

Intro to Quilting Series! Tuesdays July 1 - August 5th, 6-9pm. The Mary Make & Do Modern Mini: a complete introduction to quilting, from cutting to binding! Mary loves to make learning to quilt as fun & friendly as possible, she walks you through every step, and holds your hand as you learn all the foundational skills.

This fun patchwork sampler covers all the basic steps of quilting. It includes the most common units of patchwork quilt blocks: half square triangles (HST), flying geese, half rectangle triangles (HRT), and curves, along with sashing, borders, basting, quilting, and binding. All of this skill building goodness in a small-scale size to make it easily doable. You’ll be a quilter before you know it!

6 evening classes: Tuesdays 6-9pm. If you cannot make all the dates, make up classes are available on most Saturday afternoons during Studio Hours.

To be comfortable in this class, we recommend sewing machine experience comparable to our Beginner Sewing Class.

Save your fav garments & such at our Drop-in Mending Workshop! Tuesday 11/12, 6-8:30 at No experience required, we’ll have tools & supplies to help you fix a tear, patch a hole, replace a button, repair worn spots (like the butt of your old jeans) and/or finally sew on those patches you’ve been collecting. Fee $10-$30, no need to prepay. Dm with questions 🪡🧵

Absolute Beginner Sewing Class! Friday 2/9, 6:00-8:45pm. Sign up and hold your spot through link in bio. Never sewn a stitch? Do you have a sewing machine but don’t know really know how to use it? This class is where you can learn, or get reintroduced if it’s been a while. You do not have to know anything. Seriously, not a thing! No experience required. You don’t even have to bring anything but your own sweet self.

You will learn how to use a sewing machine, including threading the machine and bobbin, and what the heck all those little attachments are for. You will be introduced to basic sewing skills, tools and terminology, along with lots of tips and tricks that prevent frustration. I will walk you through all the steps to get you off to a fun and lasting friendship with a sewing machine.

*THIS CLASS TAKES PLACE AT MARY’S STUDIO INSIDE WHITTY BOOKS AT 2306 EAST ADMIRAL BLVD* You are welcome to park in the lot behind the building and enter through the bright green back door.

Ages: Adults & teens age 14 & up

$65: includes everything, including use of sewing machine, a little fabric, thread, and tools. You seriously do not need to bring a thing, unless you have your own sewing machine you’d like to learn how to use. If so, feel free to bring it along!
