South Tulsa Community House

South Tulsa Community House Began as a relief agency. Now has 5 in-house partners who help us to "Help a Little, Empower a Lot"! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable corporation.

We started as a neighborhood group of concerned citizens in 1996 as the area became over-run with low income housing (47 apartment complexes in a 2.7 sq mi area) as well as an increase in crime and general deterioration due, in a big part, to out of state property owners. Members of our Board have served on the City of Tulsa's 61st & Peoria Crime Task Force and continue to be involved in the monthly crime coalition meetings which are supported by the Tulsa Police Dept., Riverside Division. STCH became a true community house by reaching out to our neighbors to offer emergency groceries and grew to offering free GED classes, transportation assistance and job search assistance. Since December, 2014, we were able to purchase an 8,000 sq ft building and not only have we expanded our social services, but we now have 6 in-house partner agencies, including a medical clinic. We are all here to assist our neighbors along their journey towards self-sufficiency and have done this quite successfully.
