Mrs. Baskin is truly one of the best! 💙 Peary is lucky to have such a caring and dedicated teacher who has touched so many lives over the years. Thank you for all you do for our students, families, and staff!🐻‍❄️

This Team Tulsa Tuesday, we are introducing you to pre-K teacher Jyll Baskin!

Jyll joined Team Tulsa 32 years ago and has worked as a pre-K teacher at Peary Elementary for more than 20 years. She said becoming a teacher was a natural choice after growing up in a family of educators. Her favorite part of the job is building relationships.

"Peary has been an amazing school to work at, from the wonderful families we get to teach, my very helpful TA, Jamie Schrader, who keeps me well organized, to our amazing principal, Tessa Cross, who supports us and makes us feel like family. I feel like our school is a hidden gem and I wouldn’t want to teach anywhere else," said Jyll.

Outside of work, Jyll loves spending time with her family. Her oldest daughter also teaches at Peary!

Jyll se unió al Equipo Tulsa hace 32 años y ha trabajado como maestra de prekínder en la Peary Elementary durante más de 20 años. Dijo que ser maestra fue una decisión natural tras crecer en una familia de educadores. Lo que más le gusta de su trabajo es forjar relaciones.

"Trabajar en Peary ha sido una escuela increíble, desde las maravillosas familias con las que contamos, mi muy servicial asistente, Jamie Schrader, quien me mantiene bien organizada, hasta nuestra increíble directora, Tessa Cross, quien nos apoya y nos hace sentir como en familia. Siento que nuestra escuela es una joya escondida y no quisiera enseñar en ningún otro lugar", dijo Jyll.

Fuera del trabajo, a Jyll le encanta pasar tiempo con su familia. ¡Su hija mayor también da clases en Peary!

‼️Unfortunately, due to the expected rain tomorrow, Peary Field Day will be moved indoors. Because of limited space and for student safety, parents will not be able to attend Field Day activities this year.

Parents are still welcome to have lunch with their student during their regular lunch time. We will also still be selling snow cones for $1, and PTA Friday sale items will range from $1–$2.

A lot of planning goes into Field Day, so it is disappointing when this happens, but we will still make the best of it and have a fun day for our students! Thank you for your understanding, Peary families! 🐻‍❄️💙

‼️Desafortunadamente, debido a la lluvia esperada para mañana, el Día de Campo de Peary se llevará a cabo adentro. Debido al espacio limitado y para la seguridad de los estudiantes, los padres no podrán asistir a las actividades del Día de Campo este ano.

Los padres aún son bienvenidos a acompañar a sus estudiantes durante su horario regular de almuerzo. También seguiremos vendiendo raspados por $1 y los artículos de venta del PTA costarán entre $1 y $2.

Se necesita mucha planificación para el Día de Campo, así que es triste cuando esto sucede, pero aun así haremos lo mejor posible para que nuestros estudiantes tengan un día divertido. ¡Gracias por su comprensión, familias de Peary! 🐻‍❄️💙

Our students loved learning about aviation and seeing the awesome airplane tricks and demonstrations. Thank you for encouraging our students to dream big and never give up, and for making it such a fun and memorable experience for our Polar Bears.😊💙
