Rising senior history major Marcus Martinez presented his summer research at the TURC showcase today as part of the PSIG research team. Also pictured are Robert Loveall, English major, and MaKayla Davis, student at the College of Muskogee Nation. PSIG stands for the Presbyterian School for Indian Girls, the 19th-century predecessor of the University of Tulsa. Hats off to Laura Stevens, Sara Beam, and Midge Dellinger for leading this important team.

Award-winning historian coming to campus!!

Congratulations to all of our history department award winners and Phi Alpha Theta inductees! We also honor Dr. Jeffrey Hockett, this year's winner of the Thomas Buckley teaching award.

We were honored to have Dr. Joe Gone of Harvard University help us launch the Historical Trauma and Transformation (H2T) minor. He talked a lot about Transformation, reminding us of the power of indigenous culture to heal.

New minor based on Indigenous trauma studies offered at TU TU is offering a new trauma studies minor based on the studies of Indigenous psychologist Joseph Gone.
