Metro Christian Academy Tulsa

Camp Patriot finished the last week of summer camp with lots of excitement. 9th and 11th-graders completed Reading Camp to prepare for the school year, while younger campers visited Tulsa landmarks, the Zoo, and splash pads during Field Trip Camp. Everyone had fun with activities like Create and Play, Disney Drive-In, Let's Paint, Lots and Lots of Legos, Chess, Wild About Tippi Toes, and TACT Coding. Campers wrapped up the week with summer favorites: water play and games with friends.

Campers had a great week exploring everything from slimy science experiments and MIT Scratch game design to creative art masterpieces, completing middle school summer reading projects, discovering bugs, playing games, and dancing. Our Campers brought so much creativity and fun to this unforgettable week!

🇮🇹✈️🇬🇷With Ms. Hendrix and Mrs. Carter as their guides, Metro students and parents stepped outside of a standard classroom and into Italy and Greece for an unforgettable summer experience! On the annual international trip, the group traveled to Rome, Florence, Crete and Santorini ~ visiting ancient cathedrals and architectural structures, climbing towers, trying new foods and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea.

At Camp Patriot, Jr. Chefs-in-Training cooked up lots of delicious lunches while 5th-, 8th-, and 10th-grade students completed their summer reading assignments and Missions students served at various local non-profits. The Dog Days of Summer campers enjoyed a tail-wagging week of fun, our youngest campers brought their favorite stuffed friends for a week of cuddly fun, and advanced Tact Coding Mindcrafters mastered the art of customization with Java!

Through every season, Phyllis Fields has been a quiet, but steady presence for Metro Christian students and their families. She recently shared that she can hardly believe it has been 25 years! She said she is often reminded of the years by former students she now sees walking the halls as parents, or by those who return to Metro and work or volunteer in the PACK & PASS program. Phyllis’s impact speaks volumes about the care, consistency, and kindness she has shown over the years. Metro is grateful for her 25 years of steadfast dedication, humble spirit, and the countless ways she has invested in the lives of children and families at the school.

Over the years, Dr. W**d has worked tirelessly to support students, families, and teachers with incredible dedication and compassion. She has a unique ability to see the potential in every student and is always searching for a pathway to success, even when the journey is difficult. Students who face steep academic challenges feel genuinely cared for because of the way she advocates for and encourages them daily. Her servant-hearted leadership, perseverance, and commitment to helping children grow have made a lasting impact on our community. Metro Christian is delighted to recognize and pay tribute to 20 years of faithful service from our PRC Director, Dr. Laura W**d.
