Enemy of the State

Let me tell you a story.
Mitchell had just had his 18th Birthday. He and some friends went out to celebrate, he was finally a man. Able to make his own decisions, and free to do as he chooses. Mitch is what most people would consider a good kid. Had a decent job, girlfriend and a German Sheppard. He didn't go out often but, tonight felt special I mean, you only turn 18 once. The guys went to a bonfire party another friend was hosting, now, Mitchell was responsible and even though drinking beer is illegal when your 18. I don't know of many if, Any that didn't throw back a few at that age. He was driving tonight, and responsible for both his girlfriend and his friend Mike who had clearly had one too many . He rounded up his crew and they loaded up and headed for home. Having a comical conversation with Mike, he had forgotten to use his blinker during a lane change. It wasn't long before the flashing Red lights had him on the side of the road. Mitch had a couple beers earlier but, felt confident that he was safe to drive, his other two passengers? Not so much.

Officer Sessor approached from the side on alert
" shut the car off son" Mitchell did as he was told and looked at the officer " Was I speeding sir" ?
" No, you weren't but, you made an illegal lane change and I'm smelling alcohol pretty strong.
" oh, yes sir, we just came from a party and these two had a little to much"
" I smell the alcohol on you, son how many have YOU had,
The officer seemed pushy and rude.
" oh, I had only two beers earlier"
With a hateful look officer Sessor looked at Mitch
" you're liecence says you're 18"?
Oh...
" yes sir I'm sorry it's my 18th birthday and I did have a couple..
" So, it's OK to break the law on your birthday "?
" no sir" Sessor grabs Gina ( Mich girlfriend) out of the truck.
" let's go miss" he grabs her in an aggressive manner, displaying his discust with the group.
" Hey, your hurting my arm"
Mike , who is the most intoxicated of the three
" Hey let her go man, we haven't done anything wrong!
With Gina, out of the car, Seesor Grabs Mike, who pulls to get away, Sessor is now very aggressive and slams mike, busting his head open. Mitch becomes worried seeing his friend bleeding pretty badly
" sir, please we aren't trying to be difficult but, he is bleeding pretty bad. ...
With his knee on Mike's neck, holding his radio he looks at Mitch " you shut up and put your hands up on that car"!
Mike is now making a weird sound in his labored breathing
Everything becomes muffled in Mitch ear as he is staring in his friends eyes". He's dying"! Mitch yells " Sir your killing him!"

" Mitch baby, we gotta go" Gina is holding Mitch by the arm as he is slowly helping Mike up. Behind him, lay officer Sessor. Bleeding from his head, breathing labored. Mitch who, could not sit there and watch his friend die, picked up a rock and hit the officer in the head.

5 years later, Mitch is released from Peison. As he gets in the car with His mother and, still by his side, Gina.
This is a very different Mitch than we knew just a few years ago. No longer the fresh faced kid, excited about life ahead. Now we see a larger and less approachable man, covered in tattoos , slicked back hair and a sinister half smile.
" Hey Ma, stop at the store will ya" Gina and his mother both notice something very different about Mitch as he walks out of the store brandishing and lighting a cigarette.
" oh Mitchell, when did you start that discusting habit" his mother asked " couple years ago MA, don't worry bout it. As he gets in the car a police officer pulls up beside them . He gets out, looks at Mitches mom " Afternoon, maam"
" how are you officer"?
" Who's, MA, what are you doing? Mitch yells from the back seat. The officer looks at him, " something wrong, son"? The officer asks, looking at Mitch
" First off I'm not your fu***ng son Second, ya there is something wrong, why are you bothering us, we didn't do do nothing wrong so, why you bugging us, swine"!!?
Noticing the mark of the n**i lowriders on his neck, the officer realized he was looking at a gang member that had just been released from the local prison. He shook his head and walked away.
" that's right ya fu***ng coward, get the f**k outta here"
Looking back at her son, she couldn't believe what she was seeing, who was this person? It certainly wasn't her sweet Mitchell, no, That Mitch was dead, he was laid to rest at a oklahoma prison and this now violent and angry man had replaced him. Gina, who couldn't even talk just looked at Mitch, fear in her eyes Her Mitch too, was gone .
Over the coarse of the Next year, Mitch and Gina applied for several Appartmennts, to try and start the rest of thier lives over, every place they applied, denied them due to Mitches Assault and Battery on a police officer charge. Work, also was difficult to find as, the background checks left Mitchell jobless with little to no interviews. 16 months after his release there he sat, next to his now pregnant girlfriend watching a Andy Griffith re run. They had convinced a old man that Gina's father knew to rent them a small one bedroom house. Gina, working two waitress jobs , just until Mitch could find something steady.. as they sat there on on of Gina's two days off laughing at the TV, the power went off..
GOD DAMN C**K SUCKING MOTHER FU***RS .....FUUCK!!! Mitch throwing the TV remote against the wall, Gina trying to calm him dwn. " it's OK honey, we can go stay in My parents spare room until I get my check and we can pay the electric.
The door shut as Gina got into the Car. Mitch looking at her
"IM gonna have you drop me off at Ma's house"
Gina smiled " that will be good, you can help her with that hole in her porch and I'll talk to Dad again about seeing if he can get you on at the Mill"
" I want you to get on with your life. Gina, forget about me"
Her eyes teared up " Oh that's it huh!? You gonna leave me?
" your gonna leave OURBABY"!?
"LEAVING YOU IS THE BEST THING I COULD DO FOR BOTH OF YOU"! now mitch had tears in his eyes
" IM WORTLESS GINA, CANT FIND ANY WORK, NO ONE WOULD GIVE ME AN APARTMENT OR PLACE TO LIVE, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO "!?
Gina was still a little annoyed with him,
" Mitch, if you wouldn't have gotten all those tattoos, if you hadn't joined that stupid gang if you..
He interrupted her crying " THEY WERE GONNA KILL ME, THEY WERE GONNA HURT YOU .." I didn't have a choice!
Gina put her arm on him, " Ok..OK... it's ok..OK... we will get through this, you're upset, I'll drive" she got into the driver's seat and pulled away. Mitch didn't seem right, he kept mumbling and didn't seem all there, while she was staring at him, she ran a stop sign. Officer Jared Prather and his partner Derek Mills spotted them and pulled them over. As the officer approached she looked at Mitch and said " I'll handle this just give me your ID and try and relax" Officer Prather explained why he stopped her and collected thier IDs . Three min later he came back and his partner on Mitchs side. MITCH, DO you have any guns, weapons or. DRUGS on you? Mitch didn't say anything, he was still mumbling... "MITCHELL PRUIT did you hear me" at this Mitch looked at Gina, Smiled and yelled F**K YOU PIG, then kicked the Dash screaming as loud as he could. The cops stepped back, Drew guns and said.." out of the car with your hands up"!! They yelled several times and Mitch stepped out quickly.. scaring Officerprather making him jump back. MITCH looked at his girl, tears in his eyes and said " he was gonna kill Mikey" Gina said " honey it's OK, just lay down... again this time yelling " He was killing my friend... I saved him, then they took my life" police still yelling... Gina now crying.." Babby it's OK, just lay down'' Mitch looked at her, said" I love you both, take care of him"
Gina yelled, " Baby no don't, please"
Mitch reached behind his pants as if he had a gun, both officers opened fire, killing Mitch who was not armed.

The justice system in America is so flawed, backwards and flat out immoral that, it doesn't even resemble justice in any way, shape or form. It's so bad that we actually CREATE criminals out of good men. The Department of Corrections where I live here in Oklahoma, is a vile and very corrupt organization. What they do to human beings is oftentimes worse than what the convict did to be imprisoned in the first place, both the public and lawmakers turn a blind eye or don't even look in the first place. Families are Destroyed by the lasting effects of many times simple mistakes and the only thing that matters to the State is, the prosecution got a victory, money was made and power and control is maintained. Punishments are supposed to fit the crime. In oklahoma inmates are subject to horrid and torturous treatment for crimes where no human was injured! A punishment that takes your life from you is NEVER fitting if the victim had no injury or they can have what was taken replaced with money. It's NEVER ok to put property above life. We are fed lies and we believe them. I have no respect for our justice system nor most that agree with it or, enforce it.
Welcome To ENEMY OF THE STATE... we are gonna put a big spotlight on our justice system and push for true reform.
If you wanna keep real criminals off the street then, stop creating them!
