Our preschool program integrates a Christian curriculum with academics, including (but not limited to) number concepts, language development, art, science, cognitive skills, music, and motor activities. Our goal is to develop the unique potential of every young student by providing a solid Christian foundation and offering the skills and concepts needed for kindergarten. Activities are developmentally appropriate to balance play and learning, while promoting competence, independence, self confidence and kindergarten readiness. Our staff of teachers are chosen for their educational background, Christian commitment, classroom experience and understanding of the needs of young children. The Learning Place maintains a low student-teacher ratio to achieve an individualized learning approach and a positive classroom environment.

This week in Mrs Tracey’s class, we have continued to review all the letters we have learned so far. Since October is Fire Safety Month, we have read many books about fires, fire drills, and firefighters. We put out chalk fires on the playground with our water “hoses”, painted fire trucks, and colored and cut a fire truck into a puzzle! Enjoy Fall Break and see you on October 13th!

The Pre-K classes were so inspired by the fireman’s talk today they practiced “putting out” a fire on the side of the preschool building.

This week in MS Natalie’s Pre-K class it’s been all about the fire truck visit tomorrow. We have learned safety rules, we have read books on fire fighters, we have dressed the fire fighter and we did a fire truck puzzle. I asked each student to tell me a fire safety tip and you’ll see what they said at the end of this post. Tomorrow the firemen visit with their fire truck. It’s going to be a fun day.
