On July 1 2026 Detachment Devil Dog Jerry Higginbotham became the new Commandant. Past Commandant Bill Allen was glad to pass the Charter to him.

On June 29 Detachment meeting several events occurred. Detachment officer elections were finalized. New Commandant Jerry Higginbotham became official. Bob Topping received award as Detachment Marine of the Year for 2026. New member Tom Woolcott was sworn in.

On April 24 -26 the Department of Oregon, Marine Corps League, held their convention in Lincoln City hosted by George C. Leber Detachment #1481. The Department Military Order of Devil Dogs held their Pack Grand Growl on April 26. PDD (Pedigree Devil Dog) Bill Allen, Commandant of U.S.S. Oregon, was elected as the new Pack Leader. This is a fun society of the Marine Corps League. He is also the Pound Keeper of Webfoot Pound 104.
