Make sure your animals only get the food scrapings that won't harm them. I'm not going to say don't give them anything because I like to spoil my dogs during the holidays just make sure it's safe for them! No grapes! That's one I know for sure is a no no!

April of 2010 My dogs ingested a Sago palm. I had a pitbull and a Lab. I knew something was wrong because they were both vomiting a lot. so i looked it up online.
Turns out it is very toxic to animals. we rushed them to the vet E.R. right away. we got to take them home 6 hours later after they got fluids and some acitvated charcol. this was on a saturday. we stayed up all night trying to keep them hydrated. on sunday i notcied that my Pit, Gunner, had blood in his stool. we called and they said to wait another 12 hours that maybe it would pass. Im sorry its been so long since I have posted on here. I go through times when Ijust seem to pretend like this horrible incident never happend. Its been a little over year since I lost Roxy and Gunner to Sago palms. Please do your research for your pet!
I was at the vet the other day and he was telling me that he has had 2 more cases of a dog ingesting sago palm. Please make sure that you are spreading the word with all dog owners about these dangerous plants!

So upon adopting miss Lily we got free insurance for 30 days. So I called the insurance company to more information. Let me tell you I am switching to this insurance company! Only spoke to them once but I felt that they really did care about the animals! I have never gotten this great of service from a pet insurance company! Please everyone call or check out there website! www.Sheltercare.com Its worth your time!!! Prices are reasonable to! I was paying about 35/month for just Jake. With this insurance its about 45/mon for both dogs!

So The weather is getting colder. What do you do for your dog/cat in the winter? Buy a sweater? Keep them inside. Animals get cold too. Breeds like pits, boxers with short fur will get cold! Please make sure you are doing something to keep them warm!!!

My husband and I went to lowes with my list of safe plants and guess what!? They didn't have one plant on my list. So I used my phone to look up all their plants that they had. One of the plants that was pre grown was safe. and We found 2 packets of seeds that were safe and 1 that there is no information on. We were at lowes forever!!!!!!! It was so worth it though. Knowing that My dogs are safe means the world to me!
