Recently, we’ve been made aware of Tik Tok challenges going viral, encouraging kids to be destructive at school to either property or others.
In September, the “devious lick” challenge encouraged kids to steal something from their school, such as soap dispensers and other bathroom-related items. We had several reports of this “challenge” taking place at schools right here in Tulare County.

But it appears the challenge turns physical in October. The "slap a teacher" or "smack a staff member" challenge encourages students to walk up to their teachers and slap them before running away, making sure to get the entire thing on camera.

Ridiculous challenges like these are expected to play out every month.

In light of this information, Sheriff Boudreaux wants to make it VERY clear that if you act like a criminal, you’ll be treated like one. Stealing from your school is theft. Slapping a teacher is assault. Plain and simple. It will NOT be tolerated. And you WILL be held accountable for your actions.

When it comes to these Tik Tok challenges- Be Smart. Don’t Start!

Let's make sure our kids have up to date, working Chromebooks! 1st-6th graders can return theirs to school this week to be updated. Friday they will return broken chromebooks to school. Replacement devices will come in the last week of September!

We are extremely excited about welcoming our students back to our campuses for full-day learning for the 21-22 school Year.

Please make sure to read the Welcome Back Information Document (links are below). This document was emailed to you, and you can also access it on our District Website. You will be required to click on the “First Day Packet/Data Confirmation” link and complete the required information. If your student is not currently enrolled please click on the “New Registration” link to start the registration process.

As we are all aware, guidance continues to change, as we become aware of changes we will update this document. Your school sites will be available to answer questions you may have starting, Monday, August 2nd, please feel free to give them a call.

Did you know all TCSD schools have installed needlepoint bipolar ionization? It hangs out in the heating/air system and continuously cleans the air of contaminants (including viruses). Pretty cool... specially with our kiddos going back in person!
