🎒💛 What a First Day! 💜🎒

Yesterday, we welcomed our scholars back for the first day of the 2026–2027 school year—and what a wonderful start it was! ✨

Our schools were filled with excitement, smiles, new beginnings, and the energy that makes Tukwila such a special place to learn and grow. From reconnecting with familiar faces to meeting new teachers and classmates, our scholars showed up ready to learn, connect, and make this year their own.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for the care, preparation, and enthusiasm they brought to the first day, and to our families for helping make such a successful start possible. 🧡

We’re just getting started, Tukwila! Here’s to a year filled with learning, belonging, growth, and possibility. 📚✨

The Tukwila School District Board of Directors has extended the application deadline for the District 2 Board Director position to September 30, 2026.

If you live in District 2 and care about the future of our schools, we strongly encourage you to consider applying.

You do not need to be an education expert. We are looking for a community member who is ready to listen, learn, collaborate, and help make decisions that support our scholars, families, and community.
