When we talk about overturning the Millionaire's Tax (because a small group of ultrawealthy people don't like it) we're talking about directly making it harder for working people to live in Washington.

The Seattle Times is endorsing a No vote on this nonsense!

The Seattle Times Editorial Board recommends voting NO on Brian Heywood's initiative I-638.

They correctly note that this initiative would force invasive medical inspections on girls as young as 12, all just to humiliate and attack a small number of trans kids in our state.

The Seattle Times is endorsing No on I-001 (and I-638 in a separate post). That's a big deal!

The Seattle Times Editorial Board urges voters to reject I-001!

They highlight how the harmful, MAGA-sponsored initiative is poorly written, poses a real risk to students’ access to mental health care, and could expose already vulnerable kids to harm in instances.

Vote NO on I-001 this November.

Keep your holiday union-made!

Labor Day is better celebrated together! If you are firing up the grill this weekend, you may as well make your Labor Day celebrations union-made.

From hot dogs and burgers to all the best fixings and drinks, buying union-made goods supports the hardworking people we celebrate today.

Vox breaks down why I-638 is more extreme than any other measure like it across the country: "It would require verification from every student seeking to join a girls’ sports team, not just those whose eligibility has been challenged."

All girls will be discouraged from playing sports under I-638 because they will be subjected to invasive, embarrassing ge***al exams. We must take a stand this November and Vote NO on I-638.

I-638 is the most extreme MAGA measure of its kind in the country because it targets girls with invasive ge***al exams.

“It’s horrifying that [my granddaughter] would be required to undergo an inspection of her private parts, exposing the areas of her body we teach kids to protect, just to play tee-ball or soccer," writes Katie Johnson, a retired school nurse.

Vote NO on I-638 this November.

When the workers ask us to boycott, we should pay attention.

SBWorkersUnited has launched a Starbucks boycott until a fair contract is settled: “choosing to spend money at Starbucks is choosing a law-breaking corporation over the baristas who make your coffee everyday exactly as you ask for it.”

What a ridiculous idea. Shortchanging students - who have had the burden of college education costs shifted to them - to ensure that they are less educated is not a real path forward for a sustainable, strong future. The only option is government investment in public education at all levels.

Todd Wolfson, president of the American Association of University Professors, said the three-year degree is the wrong answer to a real crisis. He said decades of public disinvestment have shifted the cost of higher education onto students and families, and schools should not respond by shrinking the degree and asking students to make do with less.

“We need to address the problem at its root,” he said. “Reinvest massively in higher education and build a free public higher-education system that gives every student access to a full, high-quality college education without taking on crushing debt.”
