Hello Tiger Families, Friends and Community! We are coming to you with the lofty request of helping us find the PERFECT 3rd grade teacher for our school!
We are specifically seeking someone who is strong in Tier 1 instruction, is an excellent problem solver and both values and enjoys collaboration.
This person should appreciate the unique "in between" place that 3rd graders live...no longer primary students, but barely intermediate. This person should be prepared to grow and nurture the entire child as growing kids with character is as important as building strong academics and successful students.
Interested applicants can contact Ms. Osollo with any questions. The job is currently posted on the TUSD website and can be found by searching Job # 11131. Don't delay in completing an application.
If you know someone who might be interested, please share this post with them. Thank you in advance for helping us find our perfect fit!

Hey, Tigers! We are so excited for our annual Spring Fling on Friday! That said, we really need your help to make it a successful and fun event for everyone!
🍿🎡Spring Fling will be held this Friday, March 27, from 5:00 - 7:30pm.
Here's what we need to make this event a success:
1. We need you to come! Bring your friends! Purchase tickets using the link below or send cash with your presale form coming home this week!
🤩Presale tickets are $12 UNLESS you volunteer to work ANY class' game booth or snack bar for 30 minutes or more, in which case your ticket price drops to $10 for your immediate family! The links to all the games and snack bar are listed below so you can snag that lower price! (And remember, tickets will NOT be sent home. They will be picked up AT THE GATE the night of the event!) This way tickets don't get lost in backpacks and it's one less thing for you to have to remember!) 😁

2. We need help running our game booths. You AND your kids are welcome to run the games! (And if your teacher's slots are full, other teachers would welcome the help!) Don't forget- a 30 minute shift lowers your immediate family's price to $10! The links to all games and the snack bar are listed below!
3. Finally, we need Raffle Basket Items! See the attached photo! If you have items for any of these themes, we would be so grateful! These raffle baskets are always a huge hit!

Hello, Gale Families! We need your help in finding a Crossing Guard for our school. Student Safety is of the utmost importance.
We need someone willing to work a split shift, approximately 2 hours a day (one in the morning at arrival and one in the afternoon at dismissal.)
Interested people should email principal Osollo at [email protected] or call (520) 731-4500.
Please share this post with anyone you think might love a simple but very important role at our school!

The countdown is on, everyone! In ONE WEEK from TODAY we get to see our kids for the start of the 25/26 school year! So let's talk about one of our FAVORITE topics.....Dismissal! 😜
For most of you, this will be a review. For any families new to our school or families with kindergarteners, this is likely to be new information. So be sure to read thoroughly so everyone is ready!
First things first:
⏰ We dismiss at 1:55 on M, T, Th, F. (Kinder at 1:45)
⏰ We dismiss at 12:55 on W. (Kinder at 12:45)
Okay now let's talk dismissal.
🐯 Our most popular option is our Valet Line! This option is for families who wish to pick your kids up while remaining in your car!
🚗🚙HERE'S HOW OUR VALET LINE WORKS:
First, and this is the most important piece- at NO point will you park. You will remain in your moving (air-conditioned) vehicle the entire time. 😁
As you arrive at Gale, you will be driving on Gollob, heading southbound. Yes, expect a line (and just know that it takes a little longer the first few weeks). It WILL move much more quickly once everyone gets the hang of it in the first couple weeks!
⭐️A staff member will be standing out on the curb on Gollob with a radio or phone. As you approach, they will be looking for your car sign indicating which student(s) you are picking up. PLEASE PLACE A SIGN WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD OR PASSENGER WINDOW.
****Your child’s teacher MAY give you a sign but you may not have it on the first day. HOWEVER, we might be able to break 1st day of school records if you just MAKE a quick sign with your child's name on it! It doesn't have to be pretty. It can be on a piece of scrap paper, a napkin, or even a receipt you found in your car 😜 and have it ready to go on our FIRST day!
⭐️ If you do NOT have a sign, we kindly ask that you PLEASE roll your window down and be prepared to tell that staff member WHO you are picking up.
‼️If you do not have a sign AND you do not roll your window down to indicate who you're picking up, we cannot get your child lined up and you will then find yourself in the valet loop waiting even longer as staff scramble to rally your child. This, in turn, slows down all the cars behind you. 😩 So trust us, everyone (including your child) benefits from either having a sign, or simply rolling down your window!
⭐️ Once they know who you are picking up, they will either tell you, or motion to you a NUMBER. Remember your number. 😉
⭐️ They will THEN radio to another staff member, who is standing inside the loop, near the students, YOUR child’s name and the SAME number.
⭐️ That staff member will then use the megaphone to alert your child to line up and at which number they will wait for you. (There are number signs lining our fence.)
⭐️ As you enter our parking lot loop (staying close to the curb), you will continue to pull forward until you reach YOUR given number in the line. (1 is the farthest point away.) So even if you see your child walking between spots 6 and 7, but you were told to go to spot 2, don’t stop until you reach spot 2. This GREATLY facilitates the speed and efficacy of the system.
We will have other staff members in the loop who will help open doors and load kiddos! 🙂
💕Lastly, we just ask that you come to the valet line with an extra dose of kindness and patience. Our staff members are working very hard, in the heat, to ensure a safe and speedy dismissal for all. Your kindness goes a long way and sets a positive example for our students to follow.
***🚨🚨NOTE: If you have a kindergarten student AND an older student(s), you will NOT use this Valet Line. YOU and all your students will use the dirt lot to park and wait. (Swipe to see the third photo.) This is because our kindergarten students typically take longer to buckle into car seats and often need the help of an adult, which can't happen in our Valet Line. Thus, we've designated our Dirt lot for our Kindergarten and Preschool parents to park and help your children get buckled! (So your older children will always meet you and their kindergarten sibling at the dirt lot.) If you do not have a kindergarten student, we ask that you please do not use this lot.
And finally, we understand that sometimes special circumstances arise. These systems outlined here are simply the most common practices. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have a specific situation.
🐯Our kids who go to TEAL after school will be escorted to the cafeteria if they are in kindergarten or first grade. Others will walk to the cafeteria after school to get checked in.
🐯Kids who go to our Daycare Vans, ride TUSD buses or get picked up in the neighborhood from a parent in a parked car, will go to Blacksburg St. at the back of the school. (See the 2nd photo.)
🐯And Kindergarten Parents, please note the 3rd photo.
Finally, as always, if you still have questions, please feel free to ask here. We will do our best to clarify or find answers for you! Thank you so much!

The countdown is on, Tiger Fam! 😁 We are gearing up for another amazing year! We would like to welcome all our "New to Gale" families! We're so excited to have you!
One of the BEST ways to ease into a new school year is to visit your children's teacher(s) and see the classroom(s) before the first day! So, make sure your calendars are marked for MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT & ICE CREAM SOCIAL on Thursday evening, July 31. Stop in anytime between 5:30 - 7:00 pm. (Give yourselves enough time to see classrooms BEFORE the doors close at 7:00.) This is for our Kinder- 6th grade students.
📸When you arrive, visit your classrooms first! Meet your teacher(s), drop off classroom supplies, find your new desk and cubby and take LOTS OF PICTURES in your new room!
🍦Next, make your way toward the cafeteria and celebrate by grabbing some ice cream!
The FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL is Monday, August 4th! The first bell will ring at 7:40am. Feel free to hang out on the playground with your little ones until the bell rings! To begin fostering their independence right away, we say goodbye to families at the door to begin our newest adventures. ☺️
If you have any questions, let us know!
