Maria Rivas is the designer behind House of Monsivias, a brand rooted in thoughtful storytelling and organic inspiration. A graduate of the Fashion Program (spring 2025), she is currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in paralegal studies, bringing both creativity and discipline into her work.

Her latest collection draws inspiration from the Earth, celebrating the often-overlooked details of the natural world -from the quiet beauty of landscapes to the abundance of fruit and the presence of animals that enrich life. Through this collection, Maria highlights the interconnectedness and delicate balance of nature, inviting the viewer to appreciate the simple yet profound elements we encounter every day.

Zehra Kilcak is a Pima alumni garment designer specializing in upcycling, sustainable fashion, and wardrobe transformations. With a keen eye for detail, she reimagines exsisting pieces into unique, high-quality designs that blend modern style with concious craftsmanship.

Her work focuses on helping clients refresh and redefine their wardrobes through personalized makeovers and custom redesigns. Flat Patternmaking is one of the most important classes we offer. It gives you the best understanding of how to design and create an original garment start to finish. It is not too late to register! This dress is a great example of how making a half scale sample allows you to practice and see how the design will look before creating the full scale garment.
