Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and Instruction The Department of Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and Instruction offers Culturally Relevant Curriculum/Courses (CRPI) at all Tucson Unified High Schools.

The Department of Culturally Relevant Pedagogy and Instruction offers Culturally Relevant Curriculum/Courses (CRC) at all Tucson Unified School District high school and select middle schools. CRC offerings include literature and social studies courses from a Mexican American and African American perspective. The impact of this educational approach is measurable through increased student engagement, achievement, improved graduation rates, lower absenteeism and matriculation to college. CRC are:

The last two days have been a blur. Our beautiful department hosted teachers, staff and community for the annual Summer Institute for Culturally Responsive Education. Thank you to the University of Arizona for giving us the space to share knowledge. Thank you to the amazing keynotes, community speakers and breakout sessions.

SICRE is a wonderful space that is rooted in love, reflection and community. Thank you to the teachers and community that came together to connect, learn and live on each other. 🍎
